Volkswagen Ameo Makes Way to the Make in India Event

The main aim of this event is to promote the government's Make in India campaign so as to encourage foreign investment in the country. As a result, the Ameo model, which has been developed specifically for India has been showcased lately at the event being held in Mumbai.

Dr Andreas Lauermann, President & Managing Director of VW India Pvt Ltd was quoted as saying, “India offers a great potential in terms of manufacturing capabilities and that is why we support the 'Make in India'. This initiative will help in making India one of the largest automobile markets in the world.”

This India specific compact sedan is nothing but a sedan version of Polo hatch with some familiar cosmetic elements on the exterior portions. It has been developed while keeping in mind the preferences of Indians and all its teasers have been hinting towards an amalgamation of Indian culture and German technology.

It is adorned with features like dual slat grille, angular headlights, new tail lights, etc. Coming to the equipments, it is fitted with rear view camera, auto dimming mirror, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, MirroLink infotainment facility and much more. The car has already made its debut, while its launch is likely to take place by the second half of this year.
