Volkswagen To Launch Tiguan In Two Variants Soon In India

The German carmaker, Volkswagen is all set to launch the eagerly awaited Tiguan SUV in the Indian market in near future. It will be the first product from Volkswagen house to be launched in 2017. Engaging the Aurangabad based production line, the all-new Tiguan will be offered in two variants including Highline and the Comfortline. The mentioned Aurangabad facility apart from Volkswagen products, also been shared by manufacturers Skoda and Audi.

If equipped features are being considered, the fitments that will be offered as common affixment on both the trims includes LED headlamps, infotainment system and safety net. The base variant-Tiguan Comfortline will get 17-inch alloy wheels, while the top variant, Highline will be featured with 18-inch alloy wheels. In addition to this, the Highline will also be blessed with a panoramic sunroof, virtual release pedal and faux leather upholstery.

In the Indian market, the brand will launch the 5-seat version of the vehicle with regular wheelbase. Built on VW’s MQB platform shared with the Skoda Octavia, the Tiguan SUV will be powered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that is capable of producing maximum power of 143 BHP with the help of a mated seven-speed DSG transmission. Moreover, it will also get an off-road mode selector dial and all-wheel drive system as optional extra.

From the Volkswagen, the upcoming Tiguan is the second attempt product, while the first one that was the Toureg, was not being able to gain popularity in India. It is the second-generation Tiguan which is lighter than the last model by 50 kg, which makes it so quick in acceleration.
