Volkswagen Unveils the Tiguan at the 2016 Delhi auto Expo

Volkswagen has launched its Tiguan at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo. The car is likely to compete with crossovers like Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and Ford Endeavour. It is build on VW’s Modularer Querbaukasten (MQB) platform, which makes it lighter than the vehicles that are based on the PQ35 platform. Tiguan also gets some latest features like online assistance for the driver and accident notification. The centre console also gets connection ready compatible sytems from Apple, namely, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood, Tiguan comes powered by a 2.0 litre diesel powertrain that delivers a maximum power output of 148 bhp. The engine comes mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The all-new Tiguan is available in all-wheel drive variant as well. On the safety counterpart, the car gets dual airbags along with ABS and ABD.

The company had already unveiled the Tiguan concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. In India, it will rival the all-new Ford Endeavour, which comes with a 2.2-litre powermill delivering a maximum power output of 158 bhp.
