It's no hidden fact that Volkswagen had promised to bring a compact sedan exclusively for India and reportedly the automaker has done huge investments on the same. Till now, the model codenmaed VW ICS was rumoured to be named as Ameo. However, in a recent video posted by the automobile brand, it asks the public to guess the name of the car. It also displays the words- "First Volkswagen made for India is here." The sedan is scheduled to make its debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and with this video, the excitement level of the audience is surely going high.

It is believed that this sedan is nothing, but another form of Polo hatch with an extended boot. Moreover, the mechanical configuration will also be shared between the two, which means that it might be offered with a 1.2 petrol motor along with the choice of a 1.5 litre diesel motor. For transmission, there would be a 5-speed manual gearbox, but an automatic box could also be made available in the diesel trim.
The car has not been revealed, but spy shots suggest the presence of large headlamps at the front, bordering a large grille on each side. The rear end will house an L-shaped tail light cluster, much like that found in Polo. The interior is speculated to be fitted with equipments like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, MID display, and a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The ambiance will flaunt a Black & Biege color tone along with silver accents on the centre console.
