Volvo S60 Polestar India Launch On April 14

Volvo, a Swedish carmaker, is renowned for manufacturing luxury cars across the globe. The carmaker has already stepped-in the Indian auto segment, and now gearing up to introduce a new performance-oriented sub-division, Polestar brand with the launch of Volvo S60 Polestar on 14th April 2017. It is an entry-level performance car from the outfit, for which enthusiasts are waiting since its arrival announcement early in 2017 by Mr. Tom Von Bonsdorff, Managing Director at Volvo Auto India. The new Volvo S60 Polestar will be brought in country via the CBU route, similar to its elder siblings.

Under the hood, the S60 Polestar model is equipped with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the powertrain propels out the maximum power of 346bhp and a peak torque of 470Nm. On the performance front, with an all-wheel drive system, the S60 Polestar can easily crack the sprint of 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds and its top speed, which is electronically limited, is 250Kmph.

Aesthetically, the vehicle has been crafted beautifully from front to rear, that it will not let you take your eyes off from the car. The S60 Polestar front has well-designed splitters, Dual Xenon headlights and a compact grille with ‘Volvo’ signature logo stamped on it. Apart from that, the sedan sports strong character lines but not that aggressive. The rear profile witnesses a spoiler and diffusor for high-speed stability along with quirky LED tail lamps. The 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires offer a sportier appeal to the vehicle.

If safety measures are being considered, the new Volvo S60 Polestar gained features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot information system, collision warning system with full auto brake and pedestrian and cyclist detection system.

In terms of rivalry, it will go head to head with the other performance-oriented models in India from luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
