Volvo XC40 Interior Revealed in Spy Shots Ahead of Global Premier by the Year-end

The all new entry-level SUV from the Swedish luxury sports carmaker, the XC40 Volvo has been spied testing multiple times under different conditions. While we have brought up several images of the baby SUV earlier from its testing sites, this time we get our hands on a fresh set of spy images revealing interior details of the upcoming XC40, thanks to the motor1.com.

The entry level Volvo SUV is still under developing phases and is likely to be introduced in the global market by the end of this year or early next year. Leveraging the spy shots, the interior features signature Volvo theme with similar cabin aura just like the new models. The dash boasts of an all-digital instrument cluster along with the vertically placed large touchscreen smart infotainment system. The large display can also be operated via chrome accented dials placed on the each side. Down there are other in-car controls.

The new compact SUV gets three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel similar to what offered on the current Volvo cars, however, it does not get paddle shifters. The upholstery appears premium to offer enhanced comfort to its occupants. The SUV also features several cubby holes along with a wide center armrest located between the driver seat and co-passenger seat. It will only be available in five-seater layout.

The new Volvo XC40 is built on carmaker’s latest CMA platform, unlike its elder siblings - the Volvo XC90 and the next-gen XC60 which are based on the SPA platform. Moreover, the new Volvo XC40 will be the first vehicle to run on this newly developed architecture. Although, the spy shots reveal that the upcoming XC40 is likely to be inspired by its elder siblings in terms of overall appearance. At the front, the SUV will get the similar Thor’s Hammer shaped LED headlights and the vertical slat grille design pattern.

Under hood details of the 2018 XC40 has yet to be revealed by the carmaker itself, as Volvo is playing cards close to its chest. However, we can expect a range of three and four-cylinder motor in both petrol and diesel versions.
