Volvo XC90 Confirmed for May 12 Launch in India

The last year launched Volvo XC90 has been the eye-candy around the world for sometime and now the stage is set to welcome this car in India. The May 12 has been finalized for the launch of this Volvo XC90 next generation with only diesel engine though. The first generation car didn't receive the response this new car is getting as it has been completely changed inside out in terms of features and looks. The company is also thinking to bring the one and only hybrid XC90 T8 version as well, but that would be done later, if done.

This India bound model will be powered by a 2.0 Litre 1968cc 4-Cylinder diesel engine which is able to produce 222 bhp power and 470 Nm torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox system. Inside, it has huge Tesla inspired infotainment system and space to feel comfortable as well. Volvo has also developed this car on its new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) to keep the weight in check and improve efficiency as well.

The competitors of this car in Indian market would be Audi Q7, BMW X Series and Mercedes-Benz GL Class and I guess the soon to be launched Jeep would also add extra cheese to the dish. Well, let's just hold out breath for a couple of couple of days and the result will be out soon.
