VW Imported its Beetle into India for Testing Purpose

Volkswagen shares its notion with the public that it's aiming to stop the production of several models owing to their poor demand in the global markets. Notably, its two door variants will be discontinued first as the customers aren't showing any kind of interest in them. On the other hand, the German car manufacturer has considered a noteworthy love from the people for its Beetle, which was discontinued before some years. Recently, the company has promulgated that this model will be launched again in India by the second half of this ongoing year, while the car has already been imported into our country mainly for homologation purpose.

VW got a very appreciable response from its Beetle, since the day of its very first time introduction. Previously, despite of having a reasonable price tag, this runabout renders an adorable aspect for everyone with the baby type cuteness that made it one of the most preferable vehicles among the customers with giving it a nickname, 'The People's Car'. After passing some years, the manufacturer gave several updates to this mini car, which got the same look, while its comfort and convenient features were increased that made the hatchback more expensive than its predecessor.

In 2013, Volkswagen again acquainted the retouched variant, including an enlarged size as well as more practical look and this updated trim is currently on sale in the International markets as the third generation model. Now, it is all set to be rolled out in India soon, where one unit of the Beetle has been imported for testing that hinting towards its near launch.

The brought units are powered by a 1.4 litre TSI engine, which is also available in the Octavia and the Jetta. The runabout will be introduced via CBU route at an anticipated price of INR 30 Lac.
