VW Made Premiere of XL Sport at Shanghai Auto Show

After showcasing at the Paris Auto Show last year in October, Volkswagen has brought its XL Sport in China at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. It is a limited edition model, which production is restricted to only 250 units. Based on the VW XL1, this incredible looking car is 4,291 mm in length, 1,874 mm in width, 1,152 mm in height and 2,424 mm in wheelbase. Thanks to the use of Carbon Reinforced Polymer fabrication, by which the runabout gets just 890 kg of weight in spite of having a gigantic body structure.

Its magnesium alloy wheels are fitted to an 18 inch tyres as well as it also receives ceramic brakes at every ends. The VW XL with aggressive front, arrogant rear and sophisticated side ends adduce breathtaking visual perspective for the customers. Inside, the vehicle features a digital instrument cluster, aluminium shift paddles, red trimmed steering wheel and seats. Moreover, this runabout also comprises readouts that take inspiration from the motorsport, and offset seating for passenger and driver.

VW XL Sport

Mechanically, the model is machined with the same engine as the Ducati 1199 Superleggera alongside a two cylinder petrol unit that churns out power of 197 hp. A dual clutch 7-speed gearbox is paired to a 1,199 cc engine for sending the output to its wheels. Ahead of hitting a top speed of 270 Km/h, it can be accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.
