VW New Compact Sedan Could be Named as Bora

As per the Indian market report, Volkswagen's new compact sedan might be named as the 'Bora'. The German car maker is currently busy in developing this vehicle, especially for the Indian automobile market, where its launch is anticipated to be held in the second month of next year at the Auto Expo. Now, there is a need to give an identity to this car, So that it can be acquainted into the automotive sector with its own identification. Codenamed as ICS (Indian Compact Sedan), the runabout seems to get the same name, which has already been taken into use outside India with the derivation from a winds or ocean currents for Polo, Jetta, Vento, Golf and Passat.

Currently, the VW Jetta is known as the Bora in Maxico as well as in Colombia. As the company has planned to launch total four products in our country till upcoming 24 months, in which this sub 4 metre compact sedan will be the one to be released. The powertrains are probably to be carried out from the Polo with a 1.2 litre three cylinder petrol and a 1.2 litre TSI engines. The second one is exclusively paired to a 7-speed DSG, while another 1.5 litre TDI mill gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

This forthcoming car is likely to restrict the selling of the Maruti Dzire, Tata Zest, Ford Figo Aspire sedan, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze. Its price range is about to be varied from INR 5.5 Lac to 8 Lac.
