Yamaha Fazer 250, the faired variant of the recent entrant naked road fighter the FZ25, is possible on coming August 21. As, an official invite from the Japanese motorcycle maker, is also hinting the same, the start of a brand new chapter in its journey on the Indian ground. With the various spied events and the most recent of market ready mule last month, suggesting strongly the emergence of the Yamaha Fazer 250 into a unique faired 250cc sports category.
Evidently, the faired version of the FZ25, the Fazer 250 is similar to what the Fazer-FI is to the FZ16 v2.0. But this impending one is different from the Fazer-FI or the larger Fazer variants are on sale in the foreign markets that the Fazer 250 will feature a full fairing instead of a half fairing. Other than this, the expectations are it will come painted in a dual tone shade. From the side view, the fairing seems promising as of a sports bike, though the front view of the fairing which has been designed around the FZ25’s headlamp is open to debate. With a flatter profile, the headlamp also has dummy air scoops on its either sides.
Under the fuel tank, the Fazer 250 is equipped with the same 250cc air and oil-cooled motor borrowed from the naked sibling the FZ25. the mill is rated to churn out the maximum power of 20.9PS at 8000 rpm and the peak torque of 20Nm at 6000rpm. Speculations are the performance and handling of the bike in question would be different from the FZ25 as the fairing increases the weight of the bike by a considerable margin. From the surfaced images, it is clear the upcoming will not sport the advanced safety of ABS. Though at the pricing front, the Fazer 250 will carry the price tag with a slight premium of Rs 4000-5000 over the FZ25.
