Yamaha to launch YZF-R3 on August 11, 2015

Here is the good news for the Yamaha fans, who are eagerly waiting for YZF-R3. Yes!! The Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha Motors, has announced the date of launch for its much-awaited motorcycle that is Yamaha YZF-R3. The entry-level motorcycle will be launched on August 11, 2015 in the country that will be a big day for YZF-R3 devotees. Furthermore, the quarter-liter motorcycle will be brought in the Indian shores via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route from the Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing facility, Indonesia. It is Yamaha's highly anticipated motorcycle that is based on Yamaha R25, which is being sold in the Indonesian two-wheeler market.

On the technical side, the Yamaha YZF-R3 is powered by an in-line, twin-cylinder and liquid-cooled motor, carrying an all-new 321cc engine displacement that has been mated to a constant mesh six-speed transmission. The fuel injected engine delivers a 42 BHP of power 10,750 RPM and 29.6 NM of torque at 9,000 RPM. The motorcycle is featured with the racing DNA of R1M and is equipped with Yamaha’s R-series technology that includes of a direct-drive camshaft, low-friction cylinders, forged pistons, etc.

In terms of look, the motorcycle has borrowed design and body cues from Yamaha R25 that includes a massive fuel tank, low mounted handlebars, twin headlights, split seats. The rear section carries an LED tail light and mounted blinkers that looks very impressive. The graphics are perfectly matched with its body profile. Thus, the motorcycle will be sold in three color options named, Racing Blue, Red and Midnight Black.

Yamaha YZF-R3 Blue

The motorcycle is built on a newly designed tubular diamond steel frame, which will provide adequate stability and dynamic riding performance. The YZF-R3 has a kerb weight of 169 KG, and it rides on a 41mm KYB front telescopic suspension and rear KYB single shock that will provide an outstanding control. The stopping power is performed by a front 298mm disc and rear 220mm disc, whereas the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) might be standard in this motorcycle. Apart from this, the motorcycle will compete with its rivals, in terms of performance and price. It is expected that the motorcycle will be priced between Rs 2.80- RS 3.20 Lakhs in the country.
