Yamaha XT660Z and XJR1300 Not to be Listed in 2017 Lineup

Yamaha is going to eliminate two models from its 2017 lineup. As per the resources, the XT660Z and XJR1300 will be discontinued from the company's product portfolio at the end of the year. The XJR1300 has been launched two decades back in 1995. Though, the automaker has made the updations just a year before, but, is not in a mood to continue it further because it won't be making it meet Euro4 standards. Same is the reason for the XT660Z's discontinuation.

The middleweight tourer's demise would be a big step, though, but, probably this wouldn't be done without a backup plan. It is anticipated that MT-07 adventure bike, which is possibly going to be called XT700Z is likely to be replaced by the XT660Z Tenere.

Yamaha is basically targeting those machines that are not Euro4 compliant and deciding for their removal from the lineup. The matter here is, what could be done to make the engine Euro4 compliant that manage the cost of the bike at the same time so that the bike won't suffer from the much-added costs as well as from performance.

Customers can pick these from the remaining stock from the dealerships, albeit, they are not going to be listed in the 2017 lineup.
