Leica Sofort: An Instant Film Camera With Unusual Design Language

Leica is one of the most expensive camera manufacturing firm, which recently has collaborated with Huawei for designing a dual camera setup in its P9 smartphone. The company has now stepped ahead with an another announcement of its first ever instant camera dubbed as Sofort.

The Sofort comes with a compact, square-shaped design language which uses Fujifilm Instax mini film. It bears a 0.37x optical viewfinder, a 60mm f/12.7 lens, shutter speeds of 1/8 to 1/400 and a battery life of 100 shots. The camera is also geared up with some preset modes for Automatic, Party and People, Sports and Action, and Marco to get quality pictures in different situations. User also gets a facility of shooting multiple exposures, self-portraits, time exposures and self-timer photos.

It also features manual control overrides, with the help of which you can change the focusing distance, enable or disable the flash and adjust image brightness. A rectangular mirror has been given at front to shoot perfect selfies. The camera is available in three colour variants Orange, White and Mint.

Apart from this, Leica also announced two type of films, one is of standard colour film and the other one is black-and-white Instax Mini film. Leica Sofort is available priced at USD 299 (Rs 20,000 approx) whereas, Leica Instax Mini film comes at USD 13 (Rs 900 approx) for a pack of 10 colour exposures and USD 16 (Rs 1,100 approx) for 10 monochrome exposure pack.
