Sony A6500 Mirrorless Camera Launched With 5-Axis OIS at Rs 1,19,900

Sony introduced the upgraded version of its A6300 back in October this year, and now the camera has made its way to India. The company launched its new camera dubbed as A6500 on Tuesday in the country. The A6300 model of the company was one of the best mirrorless camera in past, and as a successor model A6500 is all set to keep the notch up, as it now features built-in 5-axis optical image stabilisation, touch screen and faster image processing support.

The new camera by the company will be rolled out in the Indian market by the third week of December, with a price tag of Rs 1,19,990. The A6500 comes with many new features, which were just tested on A6300 such as 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, 425 PDAF points, 4K video, 11fps burst shooting, silent-shooting, Eye-AF, etc.

The A6500 is a bit heavier than its predecessor but the dimensions of both the siblings are same. Connectivity options in the camera includes Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth for pairing it with a smartphone. You can easily transfer your pictures and videos to your smartphone and can also use your handset as a viewfinder.

The biggest improvements made in A6500 are the 5-axis image stabilisation and a LCD touchscreen. Moreover the new camera comes with larger buffer facility to shoot up to 307 frames, front-end LSI chips, which speeds up the processing time for quick shots in burst mode. The 5-axis stabilisation feature of the camera provides you a compensation equivalent to using a 5-stop faster shutter speed.
