Huawei Unveiled Nova, Nova Plus And MediaPad M3 at IFA 2016

Huawei launched three new Android smartphones dubbed as Nova, Nova Plus and MediaPad M3 on Thursday, at IFA 2016.

The Nova series smartphones of the company will be available in 50 markets from October, in which Huawei Nova has been priced at EUR 399 (Rs 29,800 approx) and Huawei Nova Plus at EUR 429 (Rs 32,000 approx), Whereas, talking about Huawei MediaPad M3, it will come in different variants, which are, 32GB Wi-Fi only version priced at EUR 349 (Rs 26,100 approx), 64GB Wi-Fi only version and 32GB LTE version priced at EUR 399 (Rs 29,800 approx), 64GB LTE version priced at EUR 449 (Rs 37,300 approx) and will be made available in 14 countries from September 26 this year.

Both the new handsets of Nova series bears different design language from each other and are built out of aircraft-grade aluminum.Featuring a fingerprint sensor at the rear end, Nova looks a bit like Huawei P9 while Nova Plus looks like Huawei Mate S or Huawei G9 Plus. Both of the smartphone models will be available in Mystic Silver, Titanium Grey and Prestige Gold variants.

The GSM based Nova features a 5-inch full-HD IPS LCD display of resolution 1080X1920 pixels, which runs Android 6.0 marshmallow OS with company’s EMUI 4.1 skin atop. Powering the model is a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. It is blessed with a 12-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel front shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

Backed up with a 3020 mAh battery, the device comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage and offers 4G LTE (Cat. 6) connectivity and a USB Type-C port.


Coming up to Huawei Nova Plus, the Dual-SIM smartphone model bears 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display of resolution 1080X1920 pixels, and is said to be the international variant of Huawei G9 Plus. The handset features almost same specifications as Nova with some significant differences. Backed up with a 4000mAh battery, the device is blessed with a 16-megapixels rear camera with OIS.


At last, Huawei MediaPad M3 is a tablet packed with an aluminum-based design language. The tablet features an 8.4-inch QHD display of resolution 2560X1600 pixels which runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with EMUI 4.1 skin atop. It is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC (four cores at 2.3GHz and four cores at 1.8GHz) coupled with 4GB of RAM.

Including an 8-megapixel front and rear camera, the model will be available in a 64GB inbuilt storage variant as well which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card, apart from an LTE variant.
