Microsoft Planning To Participate In Smartwatch Race: Reports

With the booming market of smartwatches, the renowned IT company, Microsoft is also planning to enter the race of launching own smartwatches in the tech market. According to the report of Forbes, Microsoft Corp. is planning to introduce their own smart watch which can record heart rate and will be compatible with different smartphones without an trouble. With this launch, the tech giant will become the participant of smartwatch race of which Apple, Samsung are already the participants.

With regular usage, the expected battery life of the gadget is 2 days which is really impressive as compared to other similar smart gadgets that needs to be charged every night. The Forbes also reported that the company is ready to say Get Set Go for its launch soon, so as to capture a good market in the holiday season. Earlier, Apple Inc. had revealed its Apple watch on Sept. 9 with health and fitness functionality that will be available for purchase in the early months of 2015. It is still a rumor that what will exactly be the name of that smartwatch and what will be its price. With its launch in the global market, it will be able to compete against its strong rivals including Motorola Moto 360, Samsung Gear, and many new entrants in the market.

According to the reports, this is not the first time, the company had tried to enter this market. In 2004, Microsoft collaborated with watchmakers like Fossil and Swatch to produce smartwatches that used the company's SPOT technology. These watches were capable of giving information regarding weather forecasting, news, sports score and more.
