Election Commission of India allows the commencement of Bhartiya Mahila Bank

Bhartiya Mahila Bank is a financial service provider which is headquartered in Delhi. Election commission has now allowed opening of the branches of the bank in other locations as well. As the Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will be having elections in these days, EC has not allowed the opening of the bank's branches in these states. It is also advised and assured to not to organize any publicity for the bank in the election period in these states.

On the inauguration, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, finance Minister P. Chidambaram and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be present for the respective ceremony. This bank would be the first Indian Bank which will be working exclusively for and by the Women. This inauguration ceremony will be organized in Mumbai on 19th November 2013 on the occasion of India's first Woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's Birthday. Usha Ananthasubramanian will be the managing director and chairperson of women's bank.

The bank will become operational with initial capital of 1000 crores in 7 locations including Guwahati, Kolkata, Ahmadabad and Chennai. Delhi and Indore will be getting the branches after the election polls. By the end of March 2014, it is planned to open 25 branches of this bank across India.
