Reliance, Aircel Merger: Revolutionary Deal in Telecom Sector

Telecom industry of the country is one of the most emerging and evolving fields here. Various collaborations and deals have been made for the enhancement of the particular sector. Today, people of the country have witnessed the biggest deal ever made in this sector. Reliance communications and Aircel network got merged up today in the wireless business. After getting merged up, the result will come out as the third largest telecom base of India.

The deal is said to be the biggest deal ever made in the Telecom sector. After the merger, both the companies will invest a self-owned load of 14000-14000 crores in the new company. Without including the obligation of payment of Rs 6,000 crores, the new company will own a debt of Rs. 28,000 crore.

According to an official statement, “RCom domestic and global enterprise segment, data centers, fiber optic telecommunications infrastructure and related valuable addition to the real estate business in the high growth will continue to pursue.” As per some reports are considered, MTS (Sistema) will keep the 10 percent stakes in RCom. The new company will be one of the biggest company in the country with Rs 65,000 crores (USD 9.7 Billion) and net worth of Rs 35,000 crores (USD 5.2 Billion).

Reliance communications are presently the fourth largest telecommunication company of the country with the database of 9.87 million customers whereas, Aircel, on the other hand, stands at the sixth position with the 8.8 million customers. After the collaboration, the new firm will overtake the third position of Idea. Bharti Airtel is at first and Vodafone is presently at the second position.
