Xiaomi India Claimed to Sold Over 2 Million Smartphones in Q3 2016

Xiaomi India, claimed in a tweet that the company has sold over two million smartphones in the third quarter of 2016 in the country. The company on the tweet has also stated to have a 150 percent year-on-year growth from the third quarter of 2015 to the third quarter of 2016.

Lei Jun, CEO, Xiaomi India in an open letter to employees also stated that the company in October sold one million smartphones in just 18 days. The figures mentioned by the company are really impressive, as the third quarter of the year is yet to end.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the Redmi 3S series fuelled the online shipments to great heights for the company, claimed by a recent IDC report. According to the reports, this is the first time for the Chinese firm to get a place in the list of top 5 smartphone vendors based on shipments. The company also made a 2.5 times growth over last year.

The company, after Diwali sales have also announced that they have made a sale of half a million smartphone in the three days Diwali sale. The Redmi Note 3 was the top-selling smartphone on Amazon, during its Great Indian Festival Sale whereas the Redmi 3S with 3S prime was the top-selling product on Flipkart’s Big Billion Sales.



Flipkart, one of the retail partners of the company has also claimed to sell one million Xiaomi Redmi 3s and Redmi 3S Prime smartphones in India. The handset made its debut in August this year in the country and was available on Mi.com and Flipkart as well.
