Android 8.0 Oreo Update Received By HTC U Ultra: Report

HTC U Ultra has started receiving the updates of Android 8.0 Oreo, different regions users said in the report. The update is now rolling out in various countries like India, Italy, and Taiwan. Till now, the update contains only two addition- the OS upgrade and the January Android security patch, other than this, it is still not revealed what more updates are added to the program.

In the Oreo update, the two separate firmware versions are available, apparently meant for the different countries. The update brings the OS version up to 8.0 and the firmware is version 2.19.400.1. Some users are reporting the 2.19.709.2 version instead. There’s a difference in the size of the update too – the former is 1.32GB, while the latter is 1.58GB. The reports assert that the program version can be found at HTC\'s Taiwan forum and it was also shared on the website “The Android Soul”. To recollect, the HTC Ultra was launched in last year February month, where it was running on Android 7.0 Nougat program.

As per declared by the reports, the Android 8.0 Oreo update will bring in the picture-in-picture mode that will let users do two tasks simultaneously. For example, one can minimize a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.

The HTC U Ultra embrace a 5.7-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) Super LCD display, apart from a secondary 2-inch display with 1040x160 pixels resolution. It is powered with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM.

The HTC U Ultra that is available in India has 64GB inbuilt storage, expandable with microSD card (up to 2TB). The 64GB device display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. And a limited edition with 128GB storage and Sapphire Glass was also launched in India in last year march.

And for the optics, the HTC U Ultra comes with a 12-UltraPixel rear camera with 1.55-micron pixels, a BSI sensor, laser + phase detection autofocus, optical image stabilization, a f/2.8 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. In the front, HTC U Ultra contains a 16-megapixel camera with an UltraPixel mode and a BSI sensor.

Other specification that HTC U Ultra contain are 4G LTE with VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, DLNA, Miracast, HTC Connect, and USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity options. The HTC U Ultra also bears a fingerprint sensor on the Home Button, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition stereo speakers, and Hi-Res Audio support, as well as 3D Audio recording support with 4 microphones. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Furthermore, It is estimated to deliver up to to 26 hours of talk time and up to 13 days of standby time.
