Apple Confirms iOS 10.2.1 has Reduced Unexpected iPhone Shutdowns

Apple, the Silicon Valley based organisation has recently introduced iOS 10.2.1 updates for its smart devices, which was reportedly causing unexpected shutdowns of the gadgets. Some iPhone users had reported the issue of their devices getting unexpectedly switched off after installing the update. On which, the company has now claimed that the shutdowns have been reduced up to 80 percent on iPhone 6s and up to 70 percent on iPhone 6 models.

As per a statement by TechnoCrunch, the company has almost fixed the issue, by which the unexpected shutdowns of the smartphones will stop and they will not require charging ports to power back on. According to the leading smartphone manufacturing firm, over half of the iOS users have already upgraded their devices to iOS 10.2.1.

Apple, in a statement to TechnoCrunch said, “With iOS 10.2.1, Apple made improvements to reduce occurrences of unexpected shutdowns that a small number of users were experiencing with their iPhone. iOS 10.2.1 already has over 50 percent of active iOS devices upgraded and the diagnostic data we've received from upgraders shows that for this small percentage of users experiencing the issue, we're seeing a more than 80 percent reduction in iPhone 6s and over 70 percent reduction on iPhone 6 of devices unexpectedly shutting down.”

The company further added, “It is important to note that these unexpected shutdowns are not a safety issue, but we understand it can be an inconvenience and wanted to fix the issue as quickly as possible. If a customer has any issues with their device they can contact AppleCare.”
