Cyanogen has created huge boondoggle in India after its exclusive deal with the homegrown mobile manufacturer Micromax. The company of custom software has brought its custom ROM in OnePlus One smartphone first and then we had seen the same on Micromax’s Yu Yureka. With a promise of updating its custom build to stay trendy, the company has announced CyanogenMod 12S which is based on Android Lollipop platform. The good news is the OnePlus has rolled out the update for its handset.
Cyanogen has posted on its Google + page about this update release. The software giant also wrote in its blog post, "Our Lollipop ('L') update begins to roll out to all OnePlus One device owners today. Enjoy sweet additions and improvements in our latest software release, above and beyond the goodness in Android Lollipop."
Well, the users of this premium handset will get Cyanogen 12 OS as OTA update. You can see the Android 5.0 Lollipop’s Material Design in UI. However, a new feature App Themer allows the user to control and customize the user interface. A variety of themes are available to customize the experience. A new email app is also there with functionality of multiple account integration, quick replies, e-mail notifications with different-different LED settings, exchange support and many more.
Now, if you are thinking that you will get this update in your OnePlus One smartphone or not as Indian user, then no need to take worry. CM12S update will reach to India also as said earlier a month by the tech giant in the response of an Indian user's tweet. However, saying anything at this point is quite difficult after the Cyanogen exclusive rights deal with Micromax’s Yu Televentures.
