The smartphone manufacturer has unveiled a flagship series device as S Plus at a price tag of Rs. 16,999. The device has adorable features within the mediocre range. It is an ‘Exclusive India product’ that will go on sale in the first week of November. The device will be provided to only the Indian users and will feature high specs to lure the customers and lovers.
The major highlight of the smartphone is its USB Type-C port which is hitched on all the color variants of the smartphone to provide a high specs smartphone within the budget range. The three color variants are Dark Blue, White and Golden, which includes various features like Face Unlock, which will unlock the screen by face detection technology. It works with the face recognition factor to operate such a feature within it.
The software side includes the device to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop version skinned with Amigo 3.1 UI. It sports a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280) Super Amoled screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. Under the hoods, it has an in-built storage of 16GB which can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 64GB).
The dual SIM supportive phone includes dual Micro-SIMs. It packs a 3150mAh battery that is designed to provide a longer talk time facility. At the shooter’s edge, it includes 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera. The device houses Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPRS / EDGE, Micro-USB and 3.5mm audio jack connectivity options. It supports 4G LTE band additionally.
Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India, commenting on the launch, said, "We have introduced the all new S Plus especially in India this Diwali to meet all the expectations that our consumers are asking for. In fact, the all new S Plus is equipped with new features like Face Unlock that would help consumers unlock there device in less than a second". The company is further planning to provide new smartphones in the budget range. After three Elife S series smartphones- Elife S7, Elife S5.1 and Elife S5.5, the company is set to put on Elife S6 in the market for further commencement.
