HTC, the renowned Taiwanese smartphone maker, has rolled out the press invite for its flagship 'squeezable' U11 smartphone in India. The handset is all set to be launched at the official event scheduled on the 16th June. The pricing and the details about the device will be disclosed at the event only. Earlier, the company had showcased its brand new HTC U11 on its India website, which hinted at the imminent launch of the handset. Moreover, a tipster named LlabTooFeR has also claimed that the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage smartphone of the company will make its way to eight more markets alongside India. Interestingly, the company had listed both 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage variants on the India site, but that can be changed ahead of the launch.
It must be noted that the HTC U11 smartphone was launched in Taiwan last month, and one of the biggest attractions of the device is its ‘Edge Sense’ feature which promises to bring a complete new way of interaction with the device. The Edge Sense feature of the HTC U11 lets users launch the camera, and send texts. One can customize the squeeze gesture to open an email, and even launch favorite app or game. When a user activates advanced touch mode, he/she can use a "short squeeze" as well as a "squeeze and hold" for even more functionality at fingertips. It's worth mentioning that the HTC U11 squeeze feature works while wearing gloves as well, as Edge Sense is based on the actual pressure applied to the side of the device.

The upcoming Dual-SIM smartphone is expected to be made available in Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Ice White, and Solar Red color options in the promised countries. The smartphone has been priced at EUR 749 (Rs. 53,000 approx) for Europe, and USD 749 (Rs 48,000 approx) in the US, where it is already up for pre-bookings. Some of the highlighting features of the smartphone include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, its liquid surface design, and multiple AI assistants.
In term of specifications, the HTC U11 GSM handset is blessed with a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super LCD display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with the company's HTC Sense skin on top and is powered by 2.45GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with either 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage or 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage. The inbuilt memory of the smartphone can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.

The optical part of the smartphone includes a 12-megapixel rear camera with ultra-spread autofocus, BSI sensor, OIS, f/1.7 aperture, dual-LED flash, slow-motion, and 4K video recording. Additional camera features of the handset include Face Detection, Pro mode with manual control, 32-second long exposure, and RAW format support, HDR Boost, Panorama, and Hyperlapse. A 16-megapixel front shooter with BSI sensor and full-HD recording capability is also provided by the company for selfie enthusiasts. Backed up by a 3000mAh battery along with a support of Quick Charge 3.0, the HTC U11 is blessed with IP67 certification for water and dust resistance and supports two AI assistants - Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa (in specific regions only).
