HTC U11+ with 6-inch 18:9 display, Snapdragon 835 SoC Launched in India Priced at Rs 56,990

HTC U11+, the Taiwanese company's first smartphone with an edge-to-edge display, has launched in India. HTC had unveiled the smartphone in November last year promising that the U11+ will go on sale in "select markets." In India. The premium smartphone is priced at Rs 56,990 and will initially be available in an Amazing Silver colour variant on Flipkart from 7th February, but a Ceramic Black colour model will be available soon. The smartphone will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 8.

HTC U11+ price in India has been set as Rs. 56,990, with the handset going on sale via Flipkart starting Wednesday, February 7. It comes in two colour variants – Amazing Silver and Ceramic Black. HTC had launched the smartphone last year at EUR 799 (roughly Rs. 64,000); the smartphone had already been listed on the company's India site.

HTC U11+ specifications

The HTC U11+ is a dual SIM (hybrid slots) smartphone that support for 4G VoLTE connectivity. The smartphone features a 6-inch Quad HD+ Super LCD 18:9 display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.The HTC U11+ runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC’s skin on top.

The Smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.45GHz coupled with two RAM configurations- 4GB and 6GB of RAM along with two internal storage variants – 64GB and 128GB. The internal storage variants can be further expanded via microSD card up to 2TB. However, currently, the Flipkart listing shows only the 6GB variant.

On the camera spec, the new HTC U11+ fits a 12-megapixel rear camera with HTC’s UltraPixel 3 technology, BSI sensor, OIS, f/1.7 aperture, and dual LED flash. The rear camera comes with a Dual LED flash support, 4K recording, 3D Audio support and 4K recording. Up front, it houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling with BSI sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The handset also supports 4K video recording.

The HTC U11+ also packs HTC's BoomSound and HTC USonic earbuds. HTC says that BoomSound on HTC U11+ is the loudest ever put on a smartphone made by the company, and it is 30% louder than the HTC U11 and IP68 water and dust resistance, and HTC Companion service.

The HTC U11+ is powered by a 3,930mAh battery under the hood that is rated to deliver a talk time of up to 25 hours and comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support. When it comes to connectivity option include 4G LTE,USB Type-C 3.1, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, DLNA, and Miracast. There is a fingerprint scanner at the back. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 158.5x74.9x8.5mm and weighs 188 grams.
