Huawei Honor 8 Launched with Dual 12MP Cameras and 4GB RAM

Keeping its promise, Honor has launched the highly anticipated Honor 8 smartphone in China. The announcement has been done at an event there. Availability of these new mobile phones will commence from July 19 while the company has already started taking pre-orders in China. As per the launch outside China, the company hasn't made an announcement regarding this yet.

The smartphones will arrive in three variants- the first one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage priced at CNY 1,999 (approx INR 20,000), second- 4GB of RAM and 32GB ROM priced at CNY 2,299 (approx. INR 23,000), and the third one with 4GB RAM and 64GB secondary storage priced at CNY 2,499 (approx. INR 25,000).

The biggest highlight, which has been rumored for a couple of days is the 12MP dual-rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash and laser autofocus. An on-board 8-megapixel front camera is there for taking selfies. The outer profile of Honor 8 features a USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor at the back, a metal frame and a glass at the rear. It is 7.45mm slim and comes featured with a 5.2-inch full HD LTPS LCD display (1080x1920 pixels). Powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 processor, it supports for an expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. Apart from this, there is a hybrid dual-SIM slot for the users having two SIM cards. Dimensionally, it measures 145.5x71x7.4mm and very light-weight with just 153 grams. The smartphone is packed with a 3000mAh battery.

Connectivity options available in the handset are Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and infrared sensor.
