Huawei to Roll Out Android 7.0 Updates for Mid-Ranged Smartphones

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing and developing firm recently has launched its P8 Lite smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.0, and now some reports are rendered in the market that the company also is planning to roll out Android 7.0 updates for its mid-range smartphones. A list of the smartphones to get the following updates has been leaked, which includes Huawei’s Honor 6X, Honor Note 8, Huawei Nova, and Huawei G9 Plus. All of these handsets will receive updates through the course of this year.

The first handset to get the update is Huawei Nova in March 2017. Second in the list are Honor Note 8 and Huawei G9 Plus, which will receive the updates in April 2017. The Honor 6X and MediaPad M3 will be the last to get the update in May 2017.

Huawei Android 7.0 Nougat Update

Huawei first introduced EMUI 5.0 along with its Mate 9 smartphone and later announced in an official statement that the Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei Nova, and Huawei Nova Plus will receive Android 7.0 Nougat update in the first quarter of 2017. So, keeping that statement and the current leaked reports in mind, we can assume that the company is planning to roll out the latest Android updates to its mid-ranged smartphones.

According to the company, the updates will bring a lot of improvements in its security and interface design as well. The company claims that after getting updated, the user will be able to operate 90 percent of the device’s functionalities in just 2-3 clicks. Moreover, the new EMUI 5.0 ROM will increase the battery performance and also bring Applock with it, by which the user will be able to lock any application specifically.
