KDDI Announced HTC J Butterfly Based on HTC M8

Japan based company KDDI has announced a latest HTC J Butterfly smartphone, which is based on the HTC M8 with some extra features. The device contains a waterproof body and has a JBL in-ear headset for high performance.

KDDI and HTC, both have not given any information that the smartphone will be available outside of Japan or not. The device includes 5-inch full-HD touchscreen display with the resolution of 1080p display. Just like HTC M8, HTC J Butterfly runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor for multitasking. It has the clock speed of 2.5GHz, which is not similar to M8. The phone is coupled with 2GB of RAM alongside 32GB of inbuilt storage and has a microSD card which can expand the storage up to 128GB.

The smartphone houses 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash which is similar to the One mini 2 and One E8. The HTC J Butterfly is the first flagship handset that includes the quality of dual rear camera setup . KDDI has given a statement in a press conference that the rear setup is a Duo Effect camera. It houses a 5MP front-facing camera for video calling. The phone supports LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE and 3G connectivity options.

The HTC J Butterfly has the weight of 156 grams with dimensions of 145x70x10mm and will be available in Rouge, Canvas and Indigo color variants. The device is packaged with 2700mAh battery for better talk time. The mobile carrier has announced that in late August the smartphone will be available on KDDI in Japan.
