It seems that Meizu, the Chinese Consumer electronics company has started working on the flagship smartphone which is likely to be dubbed as Meizu Note 9. The information regarding the upcoming device has surfaced on the Meizu Community Forum which reveals s that smartphone will be powered by a new Qualcomm “Snapdragon 6150”.
The Meizu Community Forum also reveals that the smartphone will be featuring a 48-megapixel primary rear camera sensor which is similar to that we have previously seen in the Honor V20 (aka Honor View 20) as well as Redmi Note 7 that has been already unveiled on January 10 in the China market.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6150 is not the official name of the processor but it is rumored that it could be either Snapdragon 680 or 685 which will be the successor of Snapdragon 670 or Snapdragon 675. The leaks so far claim that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6150 could be based on the 11nm process which expected to be manufactured by Samsung.
Looking to the features of the Snapdragon 600-series processors, it will have an octa-core processor, Adreno 600-series GPU as well as support Full HD+ screen resolution. The rumored Meizu Note 9 said to support Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, USB 3.1 and NFC as connectivity options.
A few months ago, reports suggest that Qualcomm which is known for manufacturing chipsets has started working on the SM6150 and SM7150 mid-range processors. Both will be based on octa-core processors but expect to come with different GPU, CPU cores and or clock speeds.
The name of Meizu Note 9 is clearly indicating that it will be a successor of the Meizu Note 8 which was launched in the China market a few months ago costs 999 Yuan ($145). The Meizu Note 8 features a 6.15-inch Full HD+ display, 18:9 aspect ratio, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 632 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, Android Oreo OS and 3,600mAh battery.
The Meizu Note 8 has dual rear camera sensors that consist of a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. For selfies and video calling, there is an 8MP front-facing camera.
