Meizu Zero World’s First Holeless Smartphone Launched in China Today

Meizu, the Chinese smartphone has surprised everyone by offering its first holeless smartphone. Meizu Zero has been launched in the China market on January 23, 2019, just one day before the official unveiling of Vivo Apex Concept 2019. The company claims that Meizu Zero is the world first smartphone that comes with a “Holeless” Design. As the name suggests, zero that means the device brings a zero number of holes - no sim card slot, no headphone jack, no charging port and no speaker grills.

Meizu Zero is available in two different colors: Black and White. As of now, the company has not announced the pricing information of the device. No volume or power buttons are available on the device, however, the company has used touch capacitive panels on the side instead of volume and power buttons. A piezoelectric transducer has been used by Meizu as replacement of speaker in the first holeless smartphone. The Meizu first holeless smartphone comes with features like e-SIM support, wireless charging, and sound-on-display technology.

The Meizu uses eSIM technology instead of the sim card slot in its first holeless smartphone. The same eSIM technology is also available on the recently launched iPhone XS, XS Max and XR.

The Meizu Zero comes with thinner bezels, edge-to-edge OLED display and looks astonishing in terms of appearance. On the front panel, the device features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display panel, under- display fingerprint scanner and a 20MP selfie camera.

The Meizu Zero packs dual 12MP (Sony IMX380) + 20MP (Sony IMX350) on the rear panel. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.

The RAM, RAM, storage and battery information is not available at the moment but the Meizu Zero comes with the support of 18W wireless charging which is equivalent to 18W wired fast charging. The phone is being certified with IP68 ratings which resist the device from water and dust. It remains to be seen the Meizu Zero will come at what price tag.
