Micromax Canvas 5 Lite With Brown Leather Finish Launched in India

Micromax has now come forward with another smartphone in its Canvas 5 arrangement series. The new product dubbed the Canvas 5 Lite has been priced at Rs 6,499 and will likely be made available for purchase via e-commerce website Snapdeal from Friday. The highlight of the new Android smartphone is its brown leather finish, seen on the back panel.

Micromax Canvas 5 Lite is a Dual-SIM smartphone with 4G LTE support and operates on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based OS. The handset comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display that gives a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC that is further combined with 2GB of RAM.

Commenting on the launch, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics said, "Micromax has been relentless in its pursuit of launching Smartphones that combine superior performance with contemporary styling at accessible prices. In terms of camera, the GSM-handset is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear end with flash. The back camera gets additional support from the 5-megapixel camera on the front side. On the memory front, the users might face some disappointment since despite giving an internal storage capacity of 16GB, the device doesn't allow expansion of memory.

The smartphone offers Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio, 4G (with support for Band 40 which some LTE systems of India utilize), and Micro-USB support in terms of connectivity. Not just this, the smartphone also offers different types of sensors like proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and accelerometer. The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite is controlled by a 2000mAh battery that as per company claims can deliver up to 150 hours of standby time, and 4.5 hours of talk time.
