Microsoft Lumia 550 unveiled to Surface Windows 10 OS

With the budget range smartphone, Microsoft has logged in to the world of Windows phone again to surface Windows 10 in its new launch of Lumia 550. Microsoft Lumia 550 is exclusively designed to heed on the budget market with high specs providing support of the latest Windows platform. As unveiled before the briefing event, the devices like Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, the Microsoft Band 2, the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book are furnished with Windows 10. Along with all the devices, the smartphone was launched on Tuesday which is due in December at $139 (roughly Rs. 9,100).

The smartphone sports 4.7-inch HD display (720*1280 pixels) resolution screen with a pixel density of 315ppi. It is housed with 2100mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 28 days of standby time, 16 hours of talk time in 2G, 14 hours in 3G, and 17 hours in 4G. It is powered with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC clocked at 1.1 GHz, Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The device features an inbuilt storage of 8GB with 200GB expandable memory.

It is the company's first Windows 10 mobile that is blessed with all the latest updates by Microsoft as, Microsoft Edge browser, revamped Outlook mail, OneDrive, Microsoft Office, Cortana digital voice assistant and Glance Screen. It measures 136.1*67.8*9.9mm and is available in Black and White color variants. It is further equipped with the connectivity options that include Micro-USB port, along with 4G LTE-enabled band, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, FM radio and A-GPS. Further housing, an ambient light sensor, accelerometer and proximity sensors on the board.

The shooter's edge comes equipped with a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with HD video recording, LED flash and an f/2.4 aperture, alongside the front snapper that is sanctified with 2-megapixel sensor placed upfront with an f/2.8 aperture and 480p video recording. With an exploratory edge,  the rear camera hosts auto/manual exposure, geotagging and touch focus. The back panel of smartphone features the new Windows logo for branding.
