Moto Z3 With 5G Moto Mod Launched in Chicago

As expected, the Lenovo owned Motorola has officially launched the Moto Z3 at an event conducted in Chicago on 2nd August 2018. The Moto Z3 is a higher end variant of Moto Z3 Play that was launched previously in the month of June former featuring splash- resistant and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Moto Z3 Price and Availability

Alongside Moto Z3, the company has also unveiled 5G Moto Mod - an accessory that can be worked on 5G smartphones starting with Moto Z3 Play. Both will be available exclusively at Verizon, Moto Z3 will be priced at $480 expected to be available for purchase from 16th August. However, the company has not announced the price and availability details of 5G Moto Mod but it is speculated that it will be available in the starting of 2019.

Moto Z3 Specifications

The Moto Z3 is a successor of last year Moto Z2, the former comes with a 6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display along with 18:9 aspect ratio, thin- bezels and the screen resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. On the top, it has a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass which protects the smartphone from any damages. The home button is missing in the smartphone and it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which is positioned on the right-hand side.

It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo- out of the box and the company has promised to soon deliver the software update to Android P. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The smartphone is bundled with 4GB RAM, and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage, expandable up to up to 2TB by using a microSD card.

In terms of lens, the Moto Z3 packs dual 12MP cameras on the rear panel (one having an RGB sensor and another monochrome sensor). The rear camera bundled with Google Lens, Google’s computer Vision-powered search assistant and back panel magnetic pins compatible Moto Mods. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone has an 8MP front-facing camera offering an aperture lens f/2.0 and an 84-degree field-of-view. The front camera comes with Face Unlock Feature.

The connectivity options on the Moto Z3 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The smartphone bundled with an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, fingerprint scanner (on the right panel), magnetometer (compass), and proximity sensor. It is armed with a 3000mAh battery coupled with 15W TurboPower charger. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 156.5x76.5x6.75mm and 156 grams respectively.
