Motorola piles out Android 6.0 Update in Moto devices

Motorola with a firm aim has announced the list of its flagship series Moto devices to get ab update that is considered to be the latest in the industry. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update rolled out today for the Motorola devices to fetch the result and provide a smoother platform. The list figures out various handsets ranging from its older to the newest to be launched soon.

As per the Lenovo owned company's confirmation note, devices like Moto G (Gen 2), Moto G (Gen 2) 4G, Moto X (Gen 2), Moto X Pure Edition, Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Droid Turbo, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style (3rd Gen), Moto X Play and Google Nexus 6 will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The company has not yet unveiled the date of getting the update, but has confirmed the notation of hitching the ground. Further confirming from the support page of the company, devices like Moto G (Gen 2), Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto X (Gen 2), Moto Turbo, Moto X Play, and yet-to-be-announced Moto X Style will also be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The older Android will be replaced with the new one to provide various changes and enhancements that include removal of Moto Assist feature which is replaced with an option for 'Do Not Disturb' under the 'Sound and notification' settings that performs similar function. Motorola Migrate feature, which allowed transferring photos, videos, SIM contacts and even call and text history from an old Android device to a Moto device, is also being retired. Bjorn Kilburn, VP, Software Product Management, in a blog post says, "Android M also enhances support for backing up user data. These improvements duplicate most of what Motorola Migrate provides".

The company has also planned to retire the Google Chrome extension found in Motorola Connect from the device to remove the similarity in the features the new OS is providing. Further adding to the statement, Kilburn says that all these features will "no longer be preloaded going forward." Just after the Google announced the update for Nexus series phone, HTC smartphones has marked its update last week. Along with this, Nexus smartphones will actually roll out with the update this week to start this week over-the-air (OTA). After all this, select handset OEMs have also started coming out with their list of devices likely to receive the new OS update.
