Nextbit Robin goes for Pre-order in India and other Regions

Nextbit Robin, the "Cloud-first" smartphone has been rolled out with unique specs to serve the high priced market with special features. The smartphone has been launched to get the place in several regions including India. It is priced at $399 (roughly Rs. 26,000) and will cost &70 (roughly Rs. 4,600) more to get it shipped in India.

Being the startup company, it has given the Robin top-of-the-line hardware specifications and addresses the limited storage issue in smartphones with a cloud-based storage solution. It automatically backs up data and provides free storage space on the device. It has further put the smartphone on Kickstarter for financial support. It received $1,362,344 (roughly Rs. 8.9 crores) in funding for the goal that has been set to $500,000 (roughly Rs. 3.26 crores).

The smartphone features 5.2-inch full HD display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. It is is embedded in a funky plastic body, powering Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The in-built storage of 32GB is boarded with the phone with no expandability option. It has a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port. There are two color variants that are provided: Mint and Midnight.

The single-SIM capable device supports LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and other connectivity options, with the software front to feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is considered to be newest in the market. The snapper’s panel has 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The 2680mAh battery is backed up in the panel to provide a longer talk time and standby. The company also listed that, the device is carrier unlocked with bootloader is unlocked too. Unlocking simply means that one could flash their own favored custom Android ROMs on the handset.
