Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 India Launch Fixed for June 13

HMD Global, the Finnish Nokia branded smartphone manufacturing firm has announced to launch its Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 smartphone in India on June 13, 2017. The company has already rolled out press invites that read, “Let’s join hands and welcome a new era of Nokia smartphones.” The press invite also adds ‘save the date for a June 13 event’. Looking at the invite, we are expecting the arrival of all three Nokia branded Android smartphone in the country.

According to some reports sprouted in the market, the company might not launch all the three smartphones at the same time in India and Nokia 3 is expected to be the first handset in the list to go officially on sale across the country. In past, HMD Global said that it will be targeting June as the launching month of all the three smartphones in India.

In term of specifications, the Nokia 6 Android smartphone is blessed with a 5.5-inch LCD IPS display with full HD (1080p) resolution and a metal unibody design language. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery and packs a 16-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel front shooter for shooting selfies.

Next in the list is Nokia 5, the smaller Dual-SIM smartphone features 5-inch HD resolution display and an aluminium unibody design language. Moreover, it packs 13-megapixel of a rear camera along with an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfie enthusiasts. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery and packs 2GB of RAM.

Last in the list is Nokia 3, which is the most budget friendly Nokia branded smartphone. The GSM handset comes with a plastic body instead of a metal body like its upper models. However, it is blessed with a 5-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720p) resolution and is powered by the MediaTek MTK 6737 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone is backed up by a 2650mAh battery and packs an 8-megapixel sensor at both front and rear side.

The pricing of the Nokia smartphones might prove to be a hurdle to their success in India. Indian smartphone market is completely filled up with numerous options from Xiaomi, Lenovo, Oppo, Vivo, and many other smartphone manufacturing companies, which offer great specifications at budget pricing. The Nokia 6 comes with a price tag of EUR 229 (Rs 16,000 approx), which could prove to be a bit expensive for a Snapdragon 430 processor smartphone.

Apart from it, the Nokia 5 is available in Europe with a price tag of EUR 189 (Rs 13,000 approx) and the most budget-friendly smartphone in the list the Nokia 3 is available in Europe with a price tag of EUR 139 (Rs 9,800 approx). Looking at the specifications, the smartphone seems to have a bit higher price in the competition. Still, we should wait and see what sales strategy HMD Global adopts to attract the customers in India.
