OnePlus consumers seem to be very much confused by the statements and announcement made by the company and that might also cause frustration to many of OnePlus lovers out there. Now, the company has come up with an exciting news for all the OnePlus fans, as it has confirmed the launching date of its upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship smartphone. The leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced that the handset will be unveiled globally on June 20, which is the same date that was tipped in a leaked image on the internet earlier this week. In India, the company has organised a separate launching event, which will kick off at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai at 2 pm IST.
OnePlus has also confirmed that just like the launching of previous smartphones, the launch event will be streamed online via company’s official website starting 12 pm EDT - 9:30 pm IST - June 20. Moreover, the company has also organised a pop-up event on the launch day itself in New York, which will also be honoured by the presence of company’s founder Carl Pei and Marques Brownlee (aka MKBHD). Pop-up events in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Copenhagen has also been panned on the very next day of launching.
Considering India as an effective market, the company has planned to organise a separate launching event in the country. OnePlus fans are also allowed to attend the event by purchasing tickets from the India site on Monday, June 12. The fans present at the event will also get a gift hamper full of goodies, whereas a limited number of lucky people will also get a chance to purchase the new smartphone at the event itself. Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus and the founder will also be present at the event.
As a recall, the upcoming OnePlus 5 Android smartphone is believed to be blessed with a 5.5-inch full-HD display along with Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It is said to be powered by a 2.35GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and an option to choose from 64GB and 128GB built-in storage variants. In term of optics, the leaked specifications of the Dual-SIM smartphone suggests the availability of a 23-megapixel rear sensor and a 16-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfies.
According to the official information, we have confirmed that the smartphone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, a front-facing fingerprint sensor, and a camera developed in partnership with DxO. Rest of the specifications will only be confirmed at the time of its launching.
