There is no denying to this underlying fact that the tech industry is flourishing with Chinese companies across the globe and every day we get to see a whole new name in the sector. Oppo being an important part of this sector last year unveiled Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus priced at INR 26,499 and INR 27,570. As per the latest reports, Oppo has now teased images of its upcoming smartphones in the R9 series dubbed the Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus.
The Oppo R9 is the successor to the Oppo R7 which was also announced in Plus and Lite variants. The teaser image consists of the name itself i.e. R9 that confirms the existence of the smartphone. Other reports from the end of GizmoChina showcase an advertisement that reveals only the number '9' with no indication of the brand name. The same advertisement also tells about the speculated date being March 17 of this year. The image, besides the date, mentions 2016 New Product Launch Event along with a "9" numerical indicating the Oppo R9 handsets. It is likely that the duo will launch in China only but will eventually reach other markets.
If we look at the specs of the smartphones, Oppo R9 is said to feature a massive 6-inch display with QHD resolution. On the insides, it is expected to house Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3GB or 4GB of RAM that is further coupled with 64GB of storage that can be expanded via microSD card. On the camera fronts, the R9 is expected to have a 21-megapixel sensor on the back end and a 13-megapixel unit on the front side. It is also expected that the smartphone will be powered by a 3700mAh battery, that might use the company’s recently announced Super VOOC fast charging technology.
In the case of dual-SIM Oppo R9 Plus, the smartphone features 6-inch full-HD AMOLED display, an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz that comes with 64GB of expandable storage. Its RAM and camera specs remain the same as its sibling and the entire gadget gets powered by a 4120mAh battery. The smartphone operates on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, dimensionally measures 163x80.8x7.4mm, and carries a weight of 185 grams.
