Panasonic Eluga I9 with 13-megapixel rear camera launched at Rs 7,499

Japanese manufacturer Panasonic adds a new smartphone to its Eluga series with the launch of Eluga I9 on Wednesday. This new Eluga series smartphone sports a sleek design and comes with a 2.5D curved screen and producing a better picture quality and enhanced viewing experience compared to the previously launched Eluga phones. Eluga I9 comes with 4G LTE and VoLTE (voice over LTE) networks. The new smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs. 7,499. The smartphone will go on sale in India on 15th December and will be exclusively available via Flipkart. It sits against popular budget offerings, including the Xiaomi Redmi 5A and Nokia 2.

The new Eluga I9 is launched in three colour variants - Space grey, Champagne Gold and Blue. The new budget smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD display with the resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB internal storage which is further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

For imaging, Panasonic has provided a 13-megapixel primary shooter, paired with an LED flash module. A 5-megapixel secondary snapper available on the front with a diffused, selfie flash. In addition, the Eluga i9 also comes with a preloaded mode such as a - watermark, Panorama, burst mode and various other filters to make a picture look much better. In terms of connectivity, it offers 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-SIM slots, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Micro-USB on the connectivity front. It has a unique fingerprint sensor and comes with OTG support. Besides the handset packs a 2500mAH battery that is claimed to deliver uo to 8 hours of video playback on a single charge.

Last month, Panasonic launched the Eluga C as its affordable bezel-less display-sporting smartphone in Taiwan. That handset included a dual camera setup and was debuted in the Taiwanese market with a price tag of TWD 6,000 (approximately Rs. 12,900).
