Pepsi unveiled its first smartphone P1s With Android 5.1

Earlier this month, food and beverages manufacturing company has announced that, it is going to introduce the Pepsi branded smartphones and accessories. In the first stage it is going to launch the P1 and P1s smartphones in the China. However, the company is running a crowdfunding campaign to produce the smartphone.

Notably, the Pepsi is only licensing its brand for use on smartphones and accessories to Shenzen based Scooby Communication Equipment Company to produce first smartphone. The company has unveiled two versions of the smartphones dubbed as P1, the regular version while the phone P1 is compatible specifically with China Unicom’s FDD-LTE support. All the specifications in both the variants are same.

At the specifications side, the Pepsi phone P1 is featuring a 5.5-inch 2.5D curved display with a resolution of 1080*1920 pixels. It is operated on the dido OS 6.1v based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The handset is enabled with the hybrid dual-SIM card slots, whether the second SIM slot is usable for either a microSD card or a SIM card. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa core MediaTek’s MT6592 processor coupled with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

At the photography section, the device is loaded with 13 megapixel camera at the rear end while 5 megapixel selfie snapper on the board. It is having the internal storage 16GB which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSd card slot expansion.

For the connectivity, the 4G LTE enabled smartphone P1s includes Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/Edge, Micro-USB and GPS. The Pepsi’s newly variant will be available in Blue, Gold and Silver color variants. It is also enabled with the ambient light sensor, accelerometer and proximity sensors. The smartphone measures 152.2x76.2x7.7mm and weighs 158 grams.
