In October 2017, Samsung filed a patent ‘Display Device’ which was published by the USPTO (United State Patent and Trade Office) on 29 January 2019. It showed that the smartphone can be folded from the centre and the second bend towards the edge which flips a part of the display to disclose a physical controller. The controller has D-pad and six face buttons. And in its folded state, to keep the smartphone more compact and ergonomic, the games will most probably be played in the smaller display.

The images were of the Samsung foldable smartphone which gave a better idea of the design which is different from other smartphones of the same category. The design is just a basic idea which will be changed as per the requirements during development and it is also interesting to see what Samsung has in the pocket to give to its customers in this niche category.

Samsung will most probably disclose its folding device, the Galaxy F or Galaxy Fold on February 20, 2019 at its Galaxy Unpacked event which will be held in San Francisco.
