Samsung First Foldable Smartphone Would Unveil During This Year

A foldable smartphone is an upcoming trend in the smartphone industry as various manufacturers have started working on this. It is anticipated that Apple would unveil its foldable smartphone by 2020. A good news has arrived the Samsung’s mobile division CEO DJ Koh made the announcement that Samsung is planning to launch its first foldable Galaxy smartphone as soon as possible during this year.

In an interview, DJ Koh said in a press statement, now, it’s time to deliver the first foldable Galaxy smartphone. The announcement made by the company after Samsung had conducted a survey in which the company asked from the consumers whether they want foldable devices or not and their response was positive.

Koh has not revealed how the foldable smartphone would perform but revealed that it would come with advanced technology features and definitely it would perform differently than a tablet once it ‘s unfolded.

This is not the first time that the South- Korean giant has officially announced regarding its first foldable device. Earlier at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 which was conducted in Barcelona, DJ Koh had reported that it was not a fun the device would be unveiled sooner in the global market.

At the IFA radio show in Berlin last week Koh reported, “You can use most of the uses ... on foldable status. But when you need to browse or see something, then you may need to unfold it. But even unfolded, what kind of benefit does that give compared to the tablet? If the unfolded experience is the same as the tablet, why would they (consumers) buy it?

So every device, every feature, every innovation should have a meaningful message to our end customer. So when the end customer uses it, (they think) 'wow, this is the reason Samsung made it'."

Earlier, it was rumored that the foldable smartphones may have a similar design that we have earlier seen on the traditional flip phone which depend on the hinge to open or close.

However, the upcoming Samsung foldable smartphone would come with a single screen that could be flexible as well as bends upwards or downwards easily.

Currently, the Koh has not revealed the exact deadline for launching the Samsung first foldable smartphone but stated that the gadget would unveil during this year at Samsung’s Developer Conference in November in San Francisco. Koh also said that, it has been observed by Samsung that the development process of such gadget is a difficult task.

Koh further stated that, in order to target youngsters, the company was changing the market strategy in mid-tier cities and trying to provide affordable smartphones along with new features.
