Samsung Galaxy A5(2016) and Galaxy A7(2016) Launched in India

The biggest Android smartphone maker Samsung Inc. again has brought its new series in the mobile market for the general public. At the recently held Samsung's event Samsung Forum in Kuala Lumpur, the company launched two of its new devices dubbed the Galaxy A5(2016) and Galaxy A7(2016) with a price tag of Rs. 29,400 and Rs. 33,400 respectively. Both devices are dual-SIM variants with 4G LTE and will be made available from Feb. 15 through all retail stores and on e-commerce website Snapdeal.

The company did launch the same models in China last year and during the time of launch, it also unveiled Galaxy A3, however, declined to highlight as to when it would unveil the same product in India. To woo its customers, Samsung also announced a bundled Airtel data plan, with up to 30GB of data free for six months.

In terms of specs, Samsung Galaxy A7 offers a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with 3GB of RAM. Under the hood, it contains an octa-core Exynos SoC processor and sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a 5-megapixel front snapper for video calling. The handset is powered by a 300mAh battery and also offers an internal storage capacity of 16GB which is further expandable up to 128GB using external MicroSD card. Alongside the standard connectivity options, Galaxy A7 also supports LTE, ANT+, NFC and comes equipped with accelerometer, proximity, geomagnetic sensors and a fingerprint scanner.

The second handset Samsung Galaxy A5 offers almost similar specs as Galaxy A7 but, it still is considered a lower variant of Galaxy A7 as it comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display and offers only 2GB of RAM. It houses 2900mAh battery with fast charging technology. Dimensionally, it measures 144.8x71.0x7.3mm and carries a weight of 155 grams that is 17gm lighter.
