Samsung Galaxy A8s Launched in China With In-Display Selfie Camera

After being in the rumors from last few weeks, the Samsung Galaxy A8s has been finally launched in the China market with an Infinity-O display. Galaxy A8s is the first smartphone from Samsung that comes with the Infinity-O display. Samsung has offered a punch hole - placed on the left corner of the screen for selfie- camera instead of the notch

Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy A8s and Honor View 20 have been launched on the same day i.e., 10 December 2018 with same in- screen display selfie camera technology.

Samsung Galaxy A8s Price and Availability

Samsung, South- Korean giant has not disclosed the price of Galaxy A8s at the launch event in China which is expected to unveil in the coming days but the leaks suggested that it will be priced nearly the $450-mark (approximately Rs. 32,000). It remains to be seen whether the device would be available at the same price range or not. To get to know the actual price of the device, we have to wait for the company’s official announcement. In China, soon the device will be available for pre-orders most probably from November 21. It has been launched in three color options Blue, Gray and Green.

Samsung Galaxy A8s Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A8s comes with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O display that offers 19:5:9 aspect ratio. On the top, the smartphone has a 2.5D curved glass around the corners. Inside the Samsung Galaxy A8s, there is an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 10nm SoC coupled with Adreno 616 GPU. For storage, the smartphone gets 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be further extended up to 512GB by using a microSD card.

As a part of the software, the Samsung Galaxy A8s runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) out of the box layered with Samsung Experience UI 9.5 on the top. It comes with the support of microSD card and dual- SIM.

As far as camera specifications are considered, the Galaxy A8s have a triple lens on the rear panel. The rear camera set up packs a 24MP primary ultra-wide sensor featuring an aperture of f/1.7, a 10MP telephoto sensor and a 5MP depth sensor which is quite similar to the recently launched Galaxy A9. An LED flash sits below the rear camera set up. The display hole on the front side houses a 24MP selfie snapper. The smartphone has a battery back up of 3400mAh.

The connectivity options on the Galaxy A8s include 4G VoLTE, VHT80, Bluetooth v5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C support, a 3.5 mm audio jack and NFC. To unlock the device, the device gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock feature.
