Samsung Galaxy S8 Active Specifications Leaked, Hints a Bulkier Design

Samsung, in recent years, has started the trend of launching a rough and tough version of its premium flagship smartphones. Just like the previous launchings of Galaxy S6 Active and Galaxy S7 Active, the giant South Korean smartphone manufacturer has tipped to once again launch an ‘Active’ version of its latest Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone. The Galaxy S8 Active with model number SM-G892A was first spotted back in May 2017, when the handset was listed to support Netflix in HDR. Now, the upcoming rugged handset has once again popped up on Geekbench along with some of its detailed specifications.

On Geekbench, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 Active Android smartphone along with model number SM-G892A scored 1842 in single-core and 6394 in the multi-core tests, which is very close to the scores Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ got earlier. Moreover, the device is also expected to fall in line with the recently launched flagship models including the octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

Furthermore, The GSM handset is also supposed to be backed up by a larger battery as compared to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. Just like the similar case with the Galaxy S7 Active, which was introduced with a massive 4000mAh battery, much larger than the 3000mAh battery that was seen in Galaxy S7 smartphone. Apart from that, we recommend you not to expect the 'Active' version to be as ravishing as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, as it may lack the curved edges on the screen and could be blessed with a more bulkier casing for outdoor and rough use.

Samsung is expected to keep more attention on the water resistivity of the upcoming Galaxy S8 Active smartphone, as some customer reports last year claimed that the Galaxy S7 Active didn’t get the same waterproof standards as promised by the company. The company is yet to reveal the availability details, still, you can expect the arrival on the same time, when Galaxy S7 Active was launched previous year.
