Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Will be launched on 19th April 2017 in India

Samsung India, on this Friday, has confirmed that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be launched in the country in the next week, i.e 19th April 2017. In a tweet, Samsung India wrote, "India, get ready to #UnboxYourPhone! Samsung #GalaxyS8 #GalaxyS8Plus, India launch on 19th April 2017."

Pre-registrations for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones has already started and has gained a lot of attention across the country. Still, the pricing details and mobile specifications will be unveiled at the time of its launching in the country. The South Korean firm will only launch Exynos 8895 SoC-based variants of the smartphones in India, whereas Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC variants are limited to regions like the US.

Verizon Wireless had suggested the lowest rates of the smartphones, which are $720 (roughly Rs. 46,700) for the Galaxy S8 and $840 (approximately Rs. 54,500) for the Galaxy S8+. But we still have to wait for the official announcements.

It is assumed that the prices of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be $750 (approximately Rs. 48,700) and $850 (approximately Rs. 55,200) respectively. We can expect the India pricing of the handsets to be around the US pricing. Samsung GalaxyS8 will go on sale in Canada, South Korea and the United states from April 21, 2017.

Talking about the general specifications, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will feature Bixby which is a voice-based virtual assistant powered by Artificial Intelligence. Galaxy S8 will come up with some pre-installed application which works on Bixby, which will pack features same as Microsoft’s Cortana and Apple’s Siri. Samsung has also announced that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant voice feature will be missed from the smartphones initially and will specifically be launched globally on 21st April.

Moreover, Galaxy S8 Android smartphone will be blessed with iris recognition feature whereas the company also introduced Samsung DeX, a feature just like Microsoft Continuum. Through this feature, users will be able to use the smartphone like a computer by docking it to a keyboard, monitor and mouse. Galaxy S8 and Galaxy8+ both are dust and water resistant along with  IP68 certification, similarly like Galaxy S7. It runs on 7.0 Nougat company's based User Interface (UI).
