Samsung Galaxy Wide Touches the Market for INR 18,600

Samsung - the South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul is likely to unwrap its Galaxy Note 7 phablet at an upcoming event whose details are still unknown except the date i.e., August 2. However, the company surprisingly has come forth with another product in its hometown with the name of Samsung Galaxy Wide. The smartphone has been priced at KRW 319,000 (around Rs. 18,600) and is expected to make way into the market real soon in several weeks.

In terms of display, the Android smartphone features a 5.5-inch TFT display that gives a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is fueled by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor mated with a 2GB of RAM. The smartphone additionally offers 16GB of inbuilt storage capacity, that can be expanded up to a capacity of 128GB using external microSD card.

For now, this smartphone has been unveiled only in South Korea and by far there is no information from the company's side on its availability or the pricing outside the hometown. However, one important point or rather a glitch which has captured the attention of several developers and others is that the Samsung Galaxy Wide carries the same model number SM-G6005 - the same which was seen on Galaxy On7 which the company launched last year. The similarity of model numbers also indicates that Galaxy Wide is just a revised version.

On the photography front, the company has offered a 13-megapixel back camera with self-adjust and flash alongside a 5-megapixel camera targeting the selfie lovers. The GSM-handset houses a 3000mAh battery that as per company claims can offer up to 12 hours of video playback time while audio playback can last up to 78 hours, as well as its continuous talk time (on 3G WCDMA), can last up to 21 hours.

Dimensionally, the product carries a measurement of 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm and carries a weight of 171 grams which makes it a little heavier, but not that bulky enough.
