Sony Xperia 4 with 21:9 screen, expected to replace the Compact line

As after the launch of the two Compact phones Xperia 1 and the Xperia 10, speculations regarding the launch of compact phones had stopped. But as per rumours which have been floated, the compact models were supposed to be brought under the mid-range and thus, the arrival story of Sony Xperia 4 begun.

The inception of the imaginary model and its image is largely based on the rumours taking a toll around the Esato forums. It also includes the image which is being compared to the two older Xperia Compacts.

The Strategy and idea behind Xperia 4 are quite simple viz, width remaining the same as of the older Compacts, i.e, 6.5mm and increasing the screen size to 21:9 aspect ratio. Well, in the past no other mobile has the pride to show this aspect ratio and a majority of them inherits 16:9 screens, just the Xperia XZ2 Compact took a heel and had reached the range of 18:9.

The question that whether this aspect ratio of 21:9 screen is suitable for a Compact phone or not is valid but the addition of rumoured Snapdragon 710 chipset would not be digestible for most of the mid-rangers.

This speculated new model is expected to be thinner and would be measuring 8.3mm. Yes, significantly slimmer than the Xperia XZ2 Compact which was 12.1mm thick. This new model, however, won’t be featuring the 3.5mm jack.

The rumours strongly claim that Sony Xperia 4 would become exclusive to NTT DoCoMo in Japan. It would also be interesting to see whether this model would be made to launch worldwide or not if this handset is not just existing in rumours.
