It is the first smartphone in the country to be blessed with a 4K HDR display and the Snapdragon 835 SoC. The highlighting feature of the handset is believed to be its ‘Motion Eye’ camera with super slow motion video recording at 960 fps.
The company is also providing exchange offers, under which you can replace your old smartphone and get the benefit of Rs 13,060 off the purchase of the new arrival. However, to get the advantage of that offer your existing smartphone must be in working condition along with its display intact.
Additionally, Sony is also offering EMI option starting at Rs 5,358 per month, which will make the purchase of the handset more affordable. Apart from that, the people, who have pre-ordered the smartphone will get free Wireless Bluetooth Speakers Sony SRS-XB20 which is worth Rs 8,990 and free 3 months subscription to Sony LIV along with Rs 5,200 in-game credits for free.
One of the most noticeable thing in the Xperia XZ Premium smartphone is its Hi-Res Audio support along with LDAC codec for a high-quality wireless music listening experience. Furthermore, the device also comes with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, and a fingerprint sensor housed underneath the home button.
In term of specifications, the Android smartphone features a 5.5-inch 4K (2160x3840) HDR display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt memory space.
The optical part of the Dual-SIM handset includes a 19-megapixel rear camera, which comes with Motion Eye feature that captures short bursts of footage at 960 fps during a regular recording. The recorded 960fps moments would then play as slow motion videos across six-seconds at 30fps. Additionally, it gets RGBC infrared sensor for adjusting white balance and an updated Exmor RS image sensor. A 13-megapixel front shooter is also provided by the company for selfie lovers.
The GSM handset is backed up by a 3,230mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support, which has been claimed to take the battery from 0-65 percent in just 45 minutes. Connectivity options on the board include Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C and 4G LTE with VoLTE voice calling support.
